Startup with a budget of millions supplies the knitting scene with free wool for one year. Share to participate!
A knitter’s most beautiful dream becomes reality, because a company invests millions in order to make its new brand “Wool and the Knitters” known. With a budget of millions, the startup appeals primarily to young people who normally buy their clothes in shops such as H&M, Zara or Mango (fastfashion). Sustainability is particularly important to the company, which is why the idea of being even cheaper was born. “Homemade is even cheaper”, says Lisa, authorized signatory and marketing representative of Wool and the Knitters.
We conduct an interview and report on the “Free Wool” campaign:
How did the idea “Wool and the Knitters” come about?
The idea of bringing knitting back to the younger generation was born in 2016 at a congress for sustainability. Who wants to live the future must start earlier, because the older generation is more difficult to convince. But between smartphone and quater-life-crisis, the 25+ generation must once again experience the feeling of creating something themselves and assuming responsibility. Knitting is a perfect symbiosis of both: knitting fashionable accessories or homely decorations yourself reminds young people of the value of a garment compared to fast fashion and the pride in the result is a psychological effect that could turn the supposed generation Y into a generation I. The result is a psychological effect.
This is how the idea of bringing Wool and the Knitters to market was born.
Where does the name “Wool and the Knitters” come from?
Of course, we are not the only ones on the market with this idea. Trademarks of companies for the younger generation must suggest strength and transparency, which is why all word marks look identical: Black and white, capital letters. We find this at We are Knitters, Wool and the Gang and Wooladdicts. Since we address an identical target group, a symbiosis of existing names was obvious. Our USP is that we invest our advertising budget directly in our target group: Free Wool.
Why invest in advertising when we can inspire our customers with free wool?
How do knitters get the free wool?
For marketing reasons, we initially limit the possibility of registration to one day. Therefore we have chosen a Sunday so that everyone has the chance to take part in our free wool campaign.
